The study of the social construction of reality involves the recognition of radical difference between the ordered natures of the social world in comparison with the natural world. Explanation of the natural sciences seeks to streamline the physical world, opening the invariant relations of simultaneity or sequence of physical phenomena. The naturalist does not ask why the natural world is characterized by a variance, because the latter is related to the nature of things (that is regarded as a characteristic of pre-constituted world, is the object of study), and so this question makes no sense. It follows that such ordering is the ordering of the design paradigm that is constructed in accordance with the principles of the paradigm used by scientists to study the relationships between phenomena. In contrast to the order of nature is an emergent social order product of human activity, and it’s very origin should be the overriding concern of sociological research. You can certainly tell that Positivism also considers the study of social order as their main task. However, in terms of phenomenological criticism he is coming to its decision entirely unsatisfactory. Usually positivism explains the social order as something created in the external social world, relationships between those external to the individuals to factors such as shared norms and values. But this leads not only to the illegal ratification of society, but also addresses the most important problem - the question of how general it is possible that the general social world. As a result of the social order begins to be perceived as a base for granted, which explains the basis of all social activity that occurs within its borders. Even symbolic interactionism (which initially concentrated its attention on the analysis of social values in terms of a shared definition of the interaction of all participants in the situation), in effect, ignores the processes of generation of common values. The uncertainty of such concepts as "general norms and values" and "general definition of the situation," used by the representatives of traditional sociology, leads to the fact that the processes that need to be explained, are underlying most of this explanation. In contrast, phenomenological sociology focuses on the study of how this can be very "community" and how the social world is ordered in terms of common social values (or on the basis of mutual understanding). Social order, from this point of view is a product of the descriptions and explanations that do not have an independent existence outside of this activity. |
